I probably would have enjoyed "The Fall of Otrar" a whole lot more when I was 12 or 13. Back then, the measure of a sword and sandal epic was based to a great degree on the gore factor of battle and torture sequences, and less on elements such as exposition, plot and coherence of storyline. Because if you are looking for an abundance of eye-gouging, flesh-burning, blood-oozing and head-chopping, not to mention cauldron after cauldron of boiling oil, than THIS is the movie for you..
